*Individual has documented success with one of our programs, which may not be typical. Background, education, application and effort may affect your experience. Results may vary.
Your choice depends on your goals. Many students choose to attend Basic Space School in primary and middle school to explore the fun aspects of the field. Attending Space School in high school is more geared towards figuring out what you want to do in the future. Some students may consider participating in HASSE's internship program after entering college. The purpose of primary and middle school is to make learning enjoyable, while attending Space School in high school can help clarify your future learning and career paths, establishing future goals, especially when inspired by role models and guidance. In college, the focus typically shifts towards expanding your network, determining your professional field, empowering yourself for future success, and laying the foundation for future achievements.
We welcome students from all language backgrounds and expect a basic level of English to facilitate important conversations. After applying, you’ll provide a brief English self-introduction video to showcase your talents and abilities. Participants are grouped into mission teams based on HASSE’s astronaut grouping standards.
Yes! Space School emphasizes curiosity and imagination beyond STEM. The program broadens horizons, ignites passion, helps you discover dreams, and advances personal career development, as space exploration thrives on diverse talents and perspectives.
Unlike traditional space camps focused primarily on activities, HASSE emphasizes vision and passion. Our Space School combines daily themes, exciting visits, inspiring talks, projects, and simulations. While many camps center on tasks like astronaut training or rocket building, our program is a platform for expanding horizons, fueling passion, and advancing career goals.
The lineup of teachers at HASSE consists of outstanding professionals, including astronauts, world-renowned professors, scientists, and engineers who have been involved in significant space missions. One of our highly acclaimed speakers is Mr. Roland Nedelkovich, who has twice received NASA's prestigious Silver Snoopy Award, an excellence honor awarded by NASA engineers. When it comes to the complexity of their lectures, our educators focus on inspiring curiosity and making fundamental concepts more accessible. We refer to our program as 'Space School' rather than a space camp.
We believe STEM education should expand worldviews, not just prepare students for technical roles. Our program is the pinnacle of STEAM education, blending practical applications with a visionary approach to STEM. Space’s vast potential fuels curiosity and imagination, which is why we place equal emphasis on broad perspectives and motivation.
Student comfort is a priority. We arrange clean, comfortable accommodations to ensure students can relax after a day of activities. Dedicated conference spaces support project work, discussions, and morning activities or competitions.
Yes, attending Space School can be highly advantageous. Many alumni have gained admission to prestigious universities like Cambridge, with professors often intrigued by their HASSE experience. Professor Park from Oxford University even called HASSE Space School a “paradigm shift in education.”
HASSE’s premium program fee reflects its exclusive access and opportunities. With access to NASA-restricted areas, collaborations with Rice University, simulation centers, rocket launch sites, private companies, and proprietary supporting materials, HASSE offers value that most camps cannot. The fee reflects these unique resources and the ongoing connections through HASSE’s network, supporting a trajectory toward excellence.
HASSE Space School covers diverse topics beyond STEM, including space research, engineering, global perspectives, and strategic planning. The program suits anyone interested in the future space economy, which will require expertise across fields like design, law, business, and more.
Students often say it's a lot of fun! HASSE Space School is both inspiring and fun, designed to spark interest, encourage bold dreams, and promote a “Moonshot Mindset.” Beyond academics, students find purpose and passion—a refreshing shift from the typical focus on grades.
In addition to visiting NASA, students will participate in various NASA courses and have the opportunity to experience activities with the Flying Foundation. They will visit the Space Simulation Center, tour Texas A&M University, and engage in a virtual flying experience at iFLY (refer to the schedule) while enjoying a diverse range of activities. There are also many fun experiences related to Texas culture.
Founded in 2005 in Houston, Texas, HASSE is a 501(c)(3) educational organization composed of scientists, astronauts, and entrepreneurs. With students from over 20 countries, HASSE enjoys close collaborative ties with NASA, although it is not formally affiliated.
Can I get picked up if I arrive at Houston (IAH) airport on my own?
Yes, we offer airport-to-hotel transfers for $150. If another Space School participant arrives at a similar time, you may share the journey and cost.
We wholeheartedly believe that this program is the key to bridging the gap between your current situation and your desired goals. That's why we stand behind our offering with a 100% money-back guarantee. Should you find yourself unable to participate in the program within 30 days of purchase, simply reach out to us via email, and we will promptly process your refund. Your trust is paramount to us.
